We built FreeStake because we wanted to understand the math of casino-style games without the risk. Nine games, 100,000 free chips, zero real money, forever. Everything runs in your browser — there's no account, no database, no secret server.

What "provably fair" actually means here

Each round commits a server seed hash up front, mixes it with your client seed and a nonce, and passes the result through HMAC-SHA256 to decide the outcome. You can verify any round on the verifier tool.

Honesty note: because FreeStake is a static browser app, the "server" seed is just local state. On a real casino, the server's commit is what constrains them. Here, it's a demo of the mechanism — a useful thing to learn, not a cryptographic guarantee against the house.
